Came here today with my friends and our server Brad was on point! He was very attentive, came to check on us, and recommended some good drinks to us! The food was very delicious and the portion size was huge - I loved the shrimp ceviche especially because it came with plantain chips instead of traditional tortilla chips! The restaurant has a very intimate vibe to it and everyone was friendly. P.S. ABSOLUTELY get the fried ice cream! My friends loved their salad, soups, and fajitas and we all agreed to come back!

Absolutely one of the tastiest Mexican foods I've had in a long time. Loved it!! Ordered chicken quesadillas and shrimp ceviche and they both were perfect!! The spicy sauce with ceviche was too spicy for me but I liked it. I didn't like my Tijuana style (soft corn flour) tacos because they were soggy when I got them at home, so I'll probably try the Pittsburgh style (flour tortillas) for tacos.

Happened to see this restaurant at the corner of two streets while driving through Pittsburgh during a Saturday afternoon so we decided to stop in for a few drinks. It wasn't very busy when we arrived but within an hour it was packed with people. Seems like a place where locals go to meet and hang out. With dinner plans at a steakhouse, we didn't order anything to eat but the menu had a plenty of selections at reasonable prices. If we're in the area again, we'll probably try their food. Based upon our experience, I would recommend this restaurant.

This restaurant is so cute. I usually order take out from El Sabor. On Saturday night I decided to stop in with some friends and sit down and eat. Everyone enjoyed their food. Everything is fresh and the portions are pretty large. The food is delicious. I enjoyed my house sangria. I loved the colors and the decor. There is a family vibe in there. I think everyone that works there is very close. It doesn’t feel like you are at a chain restaurant for example, it’s like an eclectic house feeling. They are very accommodating, when I order for takeout and ask for little extras they include them. The staff is very nice.

Good place for friends to hang out. Wide selection of food and alcohol. Very good flavor. They have a mix of a lot of Latin American food — Mexican, Brazilian. It is not like your typical cheap Mexican place where you order at a cheap price and get a lot, but it was a decent and flavorful meal for me. The waitress was friendly too. The only thing I need to complain is the place is noisy, so do not treat your granny or colleagues here.

El Sabor has authentic Mexican cuisine that is astonishing! This is one of my son's favorite spots for genuine Mexican dishes. The food was incredible, and the service was attentive. It is in a good location and easy to find. We have gone back several times and tell others about it also! Keep the great work up with the delicious food and great service!!

I tried the South of the Border Omelette from their brunch menu and it was delicious! The portion size was satisfying and the dish was so flavorful. Authentic and one of the best omelettes I have had. Eggs, avocado, chorizo, cheese, salsa, veggies, salad - all in one and absolutely worth it!

Welcome to El Sabor, a vibrant culinary haven nestled at 4100 Penn Ave, Pittsburgh, PA. This restaurant captures the essence of Latin American cuisine, with a menu that spans flavorful offerings from Mexican to Brazilian delights. El Sabor is not just a meal; it's an experience that tantalizes the taste buds and warms the soul.

The moment you step inside, you're greeted by an intimate ambiance adorned with colorful decor that elicits a sense of home. It's a place where the staff feels like family, and you become part of a larger community that celebrates good food and companionship. As Jessica Bundrige rightly noted, it feels distinctly unchain-like, providing a cozy, eclectic atmosphere perfect for both casual dining and special gatherings.

Menu highlights include the shrimp ceviche, praised by diners for its fresh flavors and the delightful twist of serving it with plantain chips instead of the commonly used tortilla chips. This dish encapsulates the restaurant's commitment to innovative yet authentic preparations. Sagar enjoyed the chicken quesadillas and found the accompanying spicy sauce to be a bold chef's touch, though he advised might not be for the faint-hearted. For those seeking traditional tacos, we recommend opting for the Pittsburgh style with flour tortillas to avoid any sogginess experienced with the Tijuana style at home.

Some diners have mentioned the lively atmosphere, which can sometimes be noisy, making it a lively spot for friends to gather, as noted by Huayun Huang. While it might not be the ideal setting for a quiet dinner with colleagues or family, it’s perfect for those looking to enjoy good food and spirited conversation.

Don't leave without indulging in the fried ice cream, a sweet surprise that adds a perfect finish to your meal. As Michala Spencer recommended, this dessert is simply unmissable and ensures you leave with a happy palate. With a plethora of choices at reasonable prices, El Sabor proves to be a culinary jewel worth visiting. We can’t wait to experience more of what this delightful restaurant has to offer on our next visit.
